Chaos Assualt Stick 20/20 telescopic rods with the new revolution reel seat is the best musky rod you can buy, super lightweight strong blanks with lightweight fuji silicon carbide guides, and now featuring the revolution reel seat where you can screw in a long thick trigger grip for ripping rubber, you'll get full control over larger lures like the Monster Medussa, Ultra Dawg, and even the 14" Warhammer or 16" Monster Swimmin Dawg. These rods are not only good for controlling big rubber for figure 8s on followups, ripping rubber, but it's good for harder stronger hook sets and losing less fish. This is a Godsend and is a great investment for any hardcore musky fishermen that's looking to upgrade their gear, I'm sure this type of rod is something a lot of European pike fishermen haven't seen. Just head over to Chaos Tackle's website and you'll get more insightful information on the different sizes. I have 3 different action Chaos 20/20 rods paired up with 3 Shimano Calcutta Conquest MD 401 for the ultimate combo. I have a 10' SWAT for casting lighter smaller lures like the Strike King 8.0 and bucktails, then a medium rod 10' Shawk & AWE for medium size lures like chaos posseidon swimbaits, then a heavy duty 9' MOAB rod for monster medussa or ultra dawg. I go 10 foot for bigger radius wider turns when doing figure 8, I'm also 6' 1", maybe even taller using my Z-coil shoes for added comfort, so that's why I go that long. Doing figure 8s is important for catching musky here in the states, some say they catch 50% of their musky on figure 8 followups and 50% of their musky just casting catching them way out, so it's very important having a longer rod since some say it's 50/50, also important being able to turn certain baits like double 10 bucktails with a stiff rod with enough backbone when doing figure 8.
So if you live in France, Italy or even Ireland and trying to cast the big 16.5 inch Mamma Shad that's also 23 ounces, this rod would make it a lot easier to cast, control, jig, rip, and set the hook. You can tell this angler is struggling casting this bigger swimbait with a traditional rod, you'll get a lot less hand fatigue, you'll be able to cast these bigger lures for a longer time, as well as better stronger hook sets and ripping/jigging the bigger lures for unique action that can trigger and entice musky and pike to bite.
